On the free plan, Aprox shows occasional promotions for Aprox Pro and for other apps by the same developer. They come from the developer's own promotion service, not from an advertising network, and they do not track you. Some of them open the Aprox Pro screen directly. Aprox Pro removes them completely.
Where to find it
Promotions appear in three places on the free plan:
| Place | What you see |
|---|---|
| Detail pane | A banner along the bottom, on every screen except a console. |
| Cluster Overview | One card at the end of the dashboard. |
| Settings › Aprox Pro | One row in the section. |
Nothing is shown while Aprox is still checking whether you have Aprox Pro, so a Pro user never sees a promotion flash up at launch.
Use a promotion
- Tap the banner, card or row.
- Aprox opens what the promotion is about. A promotion for Aprox Pro opens the Aprox Pro screen inside the app.
Remove the promotions
- Upgrade to Aprox Pro. See Aprox Pro.
- The promotions disappear at once.
With Aprox Pro, the promotion service is never even started, so Aprox does not contact it at all.
Privacy
- No advertising identifier. Aprox does not read your device's advertising ID. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it never asks for permission to track you; on Android the advertising ID permission is removed from the app.
- No tracking. Aprox does not track you across apps or websites.
- What is recorded. The promotion service records a random ID created for this installation and which promotion was shown or tapped, for statistics only. It is not linked to your identity.
See Privacy and security for everything Aprox connects to.
