This page lists what we have added, improved and fixed in Aprox, newest first. The same notes appear in the app in the What's New sheet on the first launch after an update; close it with Continue. Updates arrive through the App Store and Google Play, and the dates below are the dates of the changes.
Where to find it
- In the app: the What's New sheet opens by itself on the first launch after an update.
- Here: the full history, below.
If an entry mentions a fix you are waiting for, update Aprox from the App Store or Google Play.
Release notes
October 29, 2026
- Watch app. Added a watch app for Aprox Pro: check on your clusters and Backup Servers, start and stop guests, restart nodes and follow running tasks from your wrist, with cluster health on your watch face. See Watch app.
- Fixed an issue where, on some devices, a guest that was started or stopped outside Aprox could keep showing its previous state until the page was reopened.
- Fixed an issue where, on some devices, the features of Aprox Pro were listed in English regardless of the selected language.
October 21, 2026
- Fixed an issue where the console could not be opened for servers with a self-signed certificate and reported a certificate error instead.
September 26, 2026
- Added a way to import the servers saved by an earlier version of Aprox, which were not carried over by the update. See Import servers from Aprox 3.
- Fixed an issue where, on some devices, servers on the local network could not be reached, saved or signed in to.
- Fixed an issue where the console stayed blank for servers with a self-signed certificate.
- Fixed an issue where a server entered as a full web address, such as
https://pve.example.com:8006, could not be reached.
September 24, 2026
- Fixed an issue where, on the latest system versions, Aprox did not ask for access to the local network and so could not reach servers on it.
September 23, 2026
- Proxmox Backup Server. Added support for Proxmox Backup Server: monitor datastores, browse and verify backups, and manage jobs, users and permissions. See Backup Server overview.
- Added a sample Backup Server to the built-in demo, alongside the sample cluster: browse its datastores and backups, verify and prune them, and run garbage collection, all without a server of your own. See Try the demo.
- Improved loading performance; pages now show their content immediately when you return to them.
- Fixed an issue where switching pages quickly could leave a page empty or show an error.
- Fixed an issue where Aprox could fail to start after being restored to a new device.
- Added occasional promotions for Aprox Pro and our other apps, shown only on the free plan. They carry no advertising identifier and no tracking, and Aprox Pro removes them. See Promotions on the free plan.
- Improved the dashboards: each column of cards now packs together, so a short card no longer leaves empty space beside a taller one.
- Improved the diagnostics report: it now summarizes how the app is set up and which requests failed, so a problem can be looked into from the report alone, and it is collected in the background while a progress indicator is shown. See Diagnostics report.
- Fixed an issue where "root" was translated in some languages instead of being left as the name of the account it refers to.
September 4, 2026
- Fixed an issue where, under certain conditions, existing Aprox Pro purchases were not recognized automatically.
September 3, 2026
- Aprox 4.0. Rebuilt Aprox from the ground up, with the same features on every device.
- Added task logs to every task list, and live progress for backups, clones and migrations. See Tasks and logs.
