Aprox is a native app for managing your own Proxmox VE clusters and Proxmox Backup Servers from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android phone or tablet, and your watch. It talks directly to your servers over their standard REST API. There is no Aprox account, no cloud relay and nothing to install on the server.
Aprox is an independent client. It is not affiliated with Proxmox Server Solutions GmbH.
What you can do with Aprox
With Aprox you can:
- see every node, virtual machine, container and storage of every cluster you add;
- start, stop and reboot guests, and restart, shut down or wake nodes;
- edit virtual machine and container hardware, and take snapshots;
- back up, clone and migrate guests;
- open consoles to guests and node shells;
- manage storage content: ISO images, templates and backups;
- follow tasks and read their live logs;
- manage a Proxmox Backup Server: datastores, backups, jobs, remotes, users and permissions.
You can add as many servers as you like, Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server mixed. The All Clusters dashboard summarizes all of them on one screen.
Most of this is free. Some actions, such as the console, hardware editing, snapshots and alerts, need Aprox Pro. Each article in this wiki says what is free and what needs Pro. See Aprox Pro for the full comparison.

Install Aprox
- iPhone, iPad and Mac: install Aprox from the App Store. The same app runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and an Aprox Pro purchase covers all three on the same Apple Account. The Apple Watch app installs together with the iPhone app.
- Android: install "Aprox - a Proxmox VE client" from Google Play. Aprox Pro on Android is a separate purchase on Google Play.
Your first steps
- Open Aprox. With no servers added, the sidebar shows No Servers.
- Choose one of these:
- Tap Demo Cluster to explore a sample cluster and a sample Backup Server that run entirely inside the app. See Try the demo.
- Tap Add Server to connect your own server. See Add a Proxmox VE server or Add a Proxmox Backup Server.
- If you used Aprox 3 before, tap Import Servers to bring back your saved servers. See Import servers from Aprox 3.
- Tap the server in the sidebar and sign in.
Where to go next
- Check what your servers and accounts need: Requirements.
- Learn the layout, the sidebar and search: Find your way around.
- Look at everything at once: All Clusters and Cluster Overview.
- Something not working? Start with Troubleshooting.
Good to know
- Servers are stored on each device and are not synced between devices. Add them on every device you use. The watch apps get their servers from the paired phone.
- Aprox talks only to the servers you add and to the App Store or Google Play for purchases. On the free plan it also loads occasional promotions. See Privacy and security.
